My name is Ethan Isaacs; I am the owner and primary teacher for Talon Coding, and I am passionate about the impact that coding and community can have on students and families. I believe the power to code and to think is a skill worth sharing, and I'm excited to help students learn!
Talon coding celebrated its launch with an introduction pizza party, with a challenge: building Legos! Students had to work in pairs, with one reading the booklet and giving instructions (like a coder) to the other student, who had to actually build the set (like a computer).
Whether you're a beginning or experienced coder, Talon Coding has content to challenge students of all skill levels. Emerging coders start out by learning the fundamental principles of coding with Scratch or Python; but that is just the beginning! Talon Coding has a unique structure and curriculum that allows all students to progress in a structured environment.
As a seasoned martial artist, I have witnessed the immense benefit of progressing through a structured belt system both as a student and an instructor. It provides timely, actionable goals and confidence as students work toward and achieve each rank. Talon Coding mirrors traditional martial arts belt systems in its curriculum, offering formal ranks (slap bracelets) to mark students' progress as they continuously improve their coding skills! At each rank, students engage in project development, teamwork exercises, and hands-on learning to master the content at each level.
